Keep It Rural was started by James and Louise, Gunter's daughter, to continue his beekeeping legacy and keep his memory alive. Gunter was a beekeeper for more than 50 years and passed his knowledge and passion for bees on to both James and Louise, along with the family marmalade with honey recipe.
Today, James and Louise run Keep It Rural together as a small family business, working their apiaries across Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Middlesex. Each apiary produces honey with its own character, shaped naturally by the forage surrounding the hives.
From honey and cut comb to marmalade, hot honey and chocolate, James and Louise continue to grow Keep It Rural together while staying true to the values it was built on: real bees, real produce and a genuine passion for beekeeping, whilst keeping the family story behind the business alive.
